Fiery fingers of flame reach around,

Trying, though futile, to strengthen its grasp.

The flames devour and carnage abounds,

Death spewing forth from the maw of this Asp.

How great is the Wyrm, devouring Wyrm!

How vast, how widespread destruction bestowed!

How easy consumed a foundation firm,

Vicious devastation to each abode!

The conquering Serpent who flies at night,

With batlike wingspread of over a score,

Greedily eats up all things in his sight;

He is the thing that good people abhor.

He would drink blood from chalice or flagon;

Devil’s within this hideous dragon.

I am not a poem person, as you well know, but the lure of the First Comment didst ensnare my simple and easily amused mind.

This poem was certainly not bad, and I enjoyed your use of "Wyrm" rather than "dragon." Beyond that, I reach my wit's end, for it is simply and undeniably... a poem.

Nice intro.

Hehe, not bad, not bad. Though, suiting the poem's theme and feel, a more intense rhythm would do wonders.

Nice vocabulary, i believe i understood half of it (not your fault, i´m spanish) but what i understood was gooood, so congrats!!
