Ah, he looks so wretched. I love the little details in this - the moonlight catching the edges of the stones, the blue poison bottle, the candle and the magpie-feather quill. At least, I'm assuming it's a magpie-feather quill.
Torn, restless, and facing bad times ahead.
And very well captured.

(A hooded crow flies in through the window, hops onto his shoulder and pecks his ear reassuringly before flying off into the darkness.)

Hello, hun. He looks tortured indeed. But what my eye is drawn to is his hand. So much energy yet restraint is harbored there. Those hands holding potions, mixing and pouring. Makes one think.
I also like the stone window and that serpent candle.

The details are wonderful. The expression on Severus' face, the layers of clothes, the chair back, the elaborate inkpot and quill, the hand clutching the parchment. You set the scene so well. I love this Severus.
