I was very pleased with the wings on this one. My cat landed on one of them, and it still didn’t break! Woo-hoo!! Commissioned piece.

*does first comment dance* Awesome, as always. ^_^ Your cat landed on a wing? How big are they?

12 Barbara Cythtor Dreamchaser Foster replies: "The cat? Average size. The dragon? BIG! This one is around 12 inches tall by 13 inches deep by 15 inches wide (most of the width is wings). Whatever else that can be said about my dragons, it's not too likely that you'd ever miss 'em in person!"

I love your scaling technique, looks very real. Something with the wings, i like to cook them upside down, gives em a filled with wind look, just an idea. I hope to be able to do sculpture near as good in the future.

11 Barbara Cythtor Dreamchaser Foster replies: "Actually, I *have* baked some of my dragon's wings that way. One of my the biggest problems, is the size of my dragons. I'm working smaller than I used to, but they're still big enough that I have to be careful to make sure I have room enough in the oven to bake them, if I turn them upside down!"

p.s. kudos on finding a medium that is cat proof 10

:-) Barbara Cythtor Dreamchaser Foster replies: "*Laughs* It was a delightful surprise (and relief) to me, too!"

I have to comment again on how much i love your art, the expressions on their faces is fantastic. I also like how you have several 'styles' of dragons in your portfolio - different colors, numbers of horns, wing patterns, scaling patters, and so on and so forth. Kind of like different breeds that you've portrayed. You are fantastic 1
keep of the great work

1 Barbara Cythtor Dreamchaser Foster replies: "Oooo, nice compliments there... thank you! Yeah, I've always enjoyed experimenting with different styles of head ornamentation, body poses, etc. In fact, I've never been able to make two of my dragons look exactly alike, so I *know* they all have individual personalities!"

Beautiful. What kind of clay do you use?

2 Barbara Cythtor Dreamchaser Foster replies: "It's polymer clay... Premo, to be exact. It's one of the "oven-baked" clays, similar to Fimo, but it has a lot more flex once it's baked that Fimo has."
