this is a poet and bard (hint the stringed instrument which is a type of small harp and books) he is in a large castle in a place he has found away from everyone else, where he can have some quiet time to think and practise his harp without being interrupted (the harp is magical but that is not very obvious, when i do a colour version is will make more sense). the idea came when someone at the games club i go to, sat reading a book on a windowsill with his hand resting on a large candlestick thing and then glanced up to look at his hand. done in pencil and cleaned up and darkened in psp7. he also reminders me of the bard mercenary in Katharine Kerr Deverry series Maddyn (who also likes to practise away from other people) so i tried to put small 'blue' spirit sitting on his harp (i tried but it didn’t look anything like a spirit so i rubbed it out)

He's loverly! I love his pose... *tilts head* I'm thinking maybe his head is just a tad too small, but then again, maybe not... His facial expression is wonderful too!

7 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "i had real problems getting his head to look male and not too small, i think i lost count after rubbing out my 12th try, but i am quite pleased with what i eventually got 2"

Luverly! I absolutely lurve this! It's like we're spying on him while he's creating...next thing you know he's going to see us then throw the skull at us...mwahaha

I really like the whole background as well, I've never had the patience to draw backgrounds like this.

*claps*

Great job!

13 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "  hehehe *ducks as scull flies past* you really shouldnt put ideas in his head!!

well he is on a A3 size paper so he looked a little lonely in the middle on his own and it was also for my boyfriend so took my time on the background 12"

Good job on the tapestry I like the border around it the most.

18 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "I was trying to get the elvish leaf thing/vines going on with it,, but i do quit like what i got 2 thanks!! "

A picture within a picture! Very clever, nicely done too, I especially like the decor on the right side of the wall. ^.^ This image seems to have two very obvious focal points though (the poet and the tapestry.) Perhaps evening it out on the right hand side would sort that, making the poet the main focal point again? Just a suggestion. w00t! You've done a lovely job with the shading. ^.^

1 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "Thank you! well i didnt really want an obvious focal point! he is supposed to be just sitting out the way trying to keep out the way and blend in so he doesn’t get disturbed when he gets a good idea for a song or poem and forget it!! "

Cool! I like this picture. For some reason I really like the design of the floor. Don't know why, my brain is fickle... everything else is really good too. I like the picture hanging on the wall with the knights, and the skull he's holding looks very realistic.

I've spewed just as much honey as I can, so now I'm off to bug someone else! Keep it up.

2 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "Thank you!! have some cookies, spewing up honey is quite hard, but you did it very well =)"

Nice job on the anatomy and detail of his clothes. 2 I like how you made a shadow under the leg, it gives it added depth. And I love the painting on his right.

18 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "Thank you ^-^ well it is actually a tapestry not a painting, but thank you anyway!! 2 "

hey...its Hamlet... .... Like your black and whites the best .... they have a richer feel in the shading and texture than your color versions... keep bringing the stuff though...

13 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "Thanks! i will get some more up over the summer (hopefully)!!!! have a cookie!!!!"

And finally we have this thoughtful chap. I think this is my favourite of all of your gallery because of the detail that you've put into it.

But the librarian says that it's time for me to go home now, and besides I have this germ phobia and I'm using a public computer...well, maybe not a phobia, more like and insane and nonsensical fear.

Wait, that's the same isn't it?

12 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "yep thats about the same thing! you need to carry antibacterial wipes with you!! hmm well i did spend a while on this one and i am really pleased people like it (my scanner did not like it at all)

i need to look round your gallery a bit more really but i will have to wait cos i am not going to be near a computer for a few days (till Tuesday) but after that i will 2 "

*lol* he reminds me of my gay choir teacher 1 he, he ,he, he not that the poet in the picture looks gay. I’m sorry it’s an assume picture and I really like the background and the picture on the wall of the knights fighting! 2

:-) Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "Hehe dont worry always fun! thanks for the giggle!"
