Rale a young male dragon looks once more as the sun go down on another day waiting for his family to return from their patrolling their territory borders, hoping to see their small specks on the horizon before he goes to sleep. He doesn’t like being left on his own to watch over their caves while his elder sisters get to go with the rest of the family and fight off the rogue dragons, large swamp trolls or mountain giants and all the other exciting things they tell him about, it’s just not fair!!

Ooo, this just struck a chord with me, I love it! I often feel like poor Rale when I am left home alone while my parents go to one or other of my brothers various functions...while I have to stay home and study/clean or work. Great job, pay a visit to my gallery sometime, I'd love to hear from you! 1

But the pretty thing waits so patiently doesn't he? Lonely, lonely, lonely. Everyone else gets to have fun but him. He should come live with me for a time. The streaks of boredom at my house never cease and in two days this guy will be begging me to leave and go back to the sea instead of lying around looking at drought-ravaged corn crops.

12 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "hehehe he might just get addicted to your coffee and not want to ever leave it!! "

I love the mood you've set here. Are you going to colour this? Becuae after 'As Time Goes By' I can see it turning out as a great success! My only crit would be to work on his closest back leg. It looks a bit oddly shaped, too large at the top me'thinks...Nicely done!

13 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "hi!! well i wasn’t going to colour it but you have twisted my arm! so yes i will next halfterm or something (sorry i forget/or i might never have known how old are you/what school year are you in??) i am a bit snowed under with A level work!! geese the teachers are slave drivers!!"

I know how he feels! Poor bludger. I have often struck that same (except human) pose while waiting for someone or something to return or arrive... waiting sucks.

I love the shading and his pose... simply marvellous.

61 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "well thats why i drew him! im just fed up of waiting for people and things too, waiting really does suck!!!! thanks for the comment!"

I love the theme, and the shading, the position, and the MoOd! However...I would strongly advise you try to color it (If it always seems like everytime you color something, it ruins the details, try using oil pastells or GOOD quality colored pencils!). I would also just suggest that you work on the way you draw the dragon (especially the back leg, it looks kinda wonky!). just take a look at pictures of other dragons around this site and see how people sculpt the skull, horns, eyes, claws, and wings.
Good luck!

28 Rhiannon C. Piper 'Daggermaiden' replies: "Thank you ! hmmm i see your point and it is a bit wonky i might have to fix that, but i preffer to draw dragons as i see them not as others see them sorry, though i do look around generally anyway! thanks for the crit anyway 12"

I really like this poor melancholy dragon! He is not missing out on fun fighting Swamp Trolls ,though, why the smell alone...It is probably best not to go into details however. We Desert dragons like chasing dust-devils and cactus poachers. And the occasional Chupacabra,of course.

P.S. I like the pose, rather feline or even canine. And you do excellent work in color, so either version would be nice. I probably shouldn’t tell this old joke, but my mentioning "Canine" fired a neuron that brought it to mind- Q: what is found inside a fire hydrant-A: H2O Q:what is found outside a fire hydrant? A: K9P!
