I have been away from elfwood for a while, selling my stud, and farm, moving, running an art gallery for about 1 and a half years to now full time painting....I would like to present "On Golden Wings"

In life we live, feel and mature to learn to either believe in the mundane....and dream of the unbeliveable.......BUT...it is as children that we choose to do both with out explination........

this is a massive painting I have just completed for a client...it is 1 meter by 1.20 meters on masonite board that has been guilded with composit leaf gold...the wings and high lights in the sun are 23karat gold leaf and the moon sterling silver........the text in both orbs is a quoet from  Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet" ...This was the inspiration for the piece "You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth"

I’ve been away for a while so haven’t been able to comment on the responces to my painting...especialy to the comments regarding the size of the horses..the bay is a near 17 hands horse..the chestnut a 15 hands horse and the rest are ponies 13 hands and under...I was very carefull in getting the proportions of both children and horses right..and only painted when the client approved the scetches...especialy with regard to sizes...this is just to set the record straight

Lovely painting, however I reject the notion that as adults we must live in the mundane and reject the "unbelieavable" or that it is only as children that we are able to believe in both. I still believe in both to this day...indeed, to me, there is no seperation and nothing is unbelieavable. Art like this proves it, to me at least.
