  | Well, it took a long time, but I finally got around to uploading this...it was actually done at the same time as the other two dragons. (Or thereabouts, anyway) It's an experiment with chalk pastels...I have a major love-hate relationship with those things! They're erasable, which is good, because they get all over the damn place! Which isn't good. XD I don't work with chalk pastels much, and I'm only so-so pleased with this picture. An amphithere is a serpentine dragon with wings and no legs. The originated in Amazonian mythology, and dominated the Aztec theology as Quetzelcoatl, the king of the gods in the Aztec pantheon. They're often mistaken for wyverns, but wyverns have 2 legs while amphitheres have none. There are several ways to spell and pronounce "amphithere", so please don't leave comments calling me stupid or telling me I misspelled it. I got that spelling from my dragon encyclopedia, thank you very much. >__> |
