The ravens and the wolves and the horse are not a "final touch" brethren. The ravens, Huginn and Muninn, the wolves, Geri and Freki, and Odin’s horse, Sleipnir are as important as the Allfather himself in the whole drawing. Gungnir is awesome as well. As the whole painting, not fancy or anything, simple and almighty, as the Father himself. Also I was very positively surprised to see that this stereotype with the Norsemen’s "horned helmets" doesnt exist in this painting! That’s amazing, because in reality, the Vikings never had winged or horned helmets.. Not too practical while fighting you see. Hails again to the artist!
Oh, another note. Honored artisted, if you may, when/if you do another painting with god Óðinn, make Sleipnir an eight-legged horse, since that is the way it is.
Praise the gods. Farewell Dan S. Mills replies: "Thanks for the words of encouragement. The next time I paint a picture of Allfather there will be several adjustments, including Sleipnir’s legs." | |

| 3 Apr 2012 | Jerry | Loading...being an Odinist myself, i find this painting to be quite awesome, hail the Allfather and hail the rest of the Aesir, i look forward to more of your paintings of the gods, keep it up, you do good work, i also like how you made the spear a simple design, most people give it a really flamboiyant out there design (i myself do at times, but that’s because imma stylistic artist and what not) but yeah love it all, Sleipnir looks very well done too, i really do like this picture. | |
