| 3 Oct 2003 | Hillwalker | Loading...Me and a couple a rpg buddies o' mine once started thinking about how the orcs reproduced. We came to a staggering conclusion: since Tolkien never mentioned orc females, or told that the orcs were continuously created (the phrase "his orcs have multiplied" would - in my mind - seem to indicate copulation and birth instead of some strange magical creation), we came to the conclusion that the orcs who kept on comin' and gettin' slaughtered had to be both male and female! I don't mean hermaphrodites or anythin', but that there were female and male orcs (after all, yeh never get to see what's under all that armor). And since orcs are cannibals and a race bred only for war, I don't think they would've had a second thought about sending "the weaker sex" to the battle field. So I don't think this picture is that far off from what the Uruks might've been up to after the war (though I don't think they would've been as cuddly with their kids ). Great picture anyhow, and kudos! | |
| 18 Dec 2003 | Anonymous | Loading...Aww...I love this picture. I'm a big fan of orcs and I really love the Uruk-hai. I think that there has to be some little spark of good in them...They can't be ALL bad. : ) I love the little baby. He/She is so cute!! ^_^ Nice work! | |

Cool picture anyway Dara 'Weirdlet' Williamson replies: "^^ Exactly my idea. There was a long and slightly unplotted fic I had going about this, where a brood of female Uruk-hai, cut off from their master at the end of the wars and mixed with a larger pack of males, discover the normal way of creating life- while still not understanding gender. It didn't go anywhere, but I liked it while I was writing it." | |
