Welcome to the woods! *first comment, first visit cha-cha*

Got a nice start here. I must say, you color pretty well! I don't know why, but I like your princess the most. Something about her face's proportions seems more realistic... probably the eyes. I'd recommend broadening the shoulders in your pictures. In size, I usually place shoulders with enough room for another head on each side. From there, the body should follow in size.

You do a good job keeping eyes, nose and mouth similar in size to each other (man, I find that hard!). Though they are a bit wide to me; I'd make front view of a head 5 eyes wide (two spaces on the outside, spaces for the eyes, space between the eyes).

Again, very nice gallery! I look forwards to seeing more. ^_^ (hope I don't sound like a yabbering complainer, *I'm very sorry if I do!!!* just wanted to give some constructive criticism)

There's not a thing wrong with any of your works. Nobody can ever be perfect, not ever, all we can do is strive to become better. Your color choices are good, and you do eyes so well! You've room to brag.
Your proportions may be your weakest point, though they are perfectly alright in their way. If you've not been exposed to the 'geometric shape' method, you should visit the FARP page here at Elfwood, or (as I've told many people) visit www.polykarbon.com and have a look-see at some tutorials on figure-drawing. I don't mean to sound preachy, because I do like your work, but you might be able to pick up something that would help. And never give up trying! I hope to see more of your work soon, so would you be so kind as to let me know when you update?

:-) Anita Darc replies: "Wow, Thanks for the comment. I cannot tell you how grateful I am. I will check out the FARP page, though I have already been introduced to 'geometric shape method', but have always found it difficult for me. Anyways...Thanks"

Hi!
I think your art is fantastic!! No matter what anyone ever says, you should always believe in yourself...Or in this case, your art!! You are very talented and training your hands and eyes can make you even better!! Never ever give up!! Practice generally improves whatever it is your trying to do and the artist is never satisfied with their own work!!!!*laughs*this "wisdom" comes from a 13 year old.... Not exactly wise but i believe in all of it and it's definately what drove me to draw better than i used to.

Hello Melissa, I've returned! Thanks for letting me know about your updates 1 and sorry it took me so long to come around. College and all that, ya know how it is.
Anyway, I can't stress how important it is to just enjoy your art and not think that you have to be 'good' in other peoples' eyes. You are improving, from what I can see, but so long as you're having fun with it your level of skill doesn't matter. Of course, I am impressed by your work regardless of all that rot I just said. There is an artist in you I think.
Also, I'd like to point out that Morgan Klieber up above this comment has impeccable wisdom, thirteen year old or not. Training and practice are what make everything, in every way, better, from athletes to artists to musicians. So as long as you don't give up, and you don't break your back over not being as good as you think you should be, then you will be a great artist. Okay, I think I'm starting to sound way too much like a self-help book, so I'll let you alone. Please keep me informed as to your updates, as you have so graciously done so far. Be blessed, every day of your life.

:-) Anita Darc replies: "I totally understand about college. Hey, I wasn't even sure you would come back anyway, and even if you did I didn't think it would be that fast. Thanks once again!"

:-) Anita Darc replies: "thanks for being honest, i guess. "

I've seen your more recent artwork that isn't posted on here and it's AWESOME! Don't listen to all those jerks who post nasty messages on the comment list (I've had a few people do that to me too). Just keep drawing. 2 I still think we should do an art trade.lol.

:-) Anita Darc replies: "Thanks Sheena, but you're too kind. My art is nothing compared to yours"

You've got some really nice stuff here! Like said above, you've got a neat style. Yeah, the heads are a bit too big but in stylization everyone's head size is a bit off. Body proportions otherwise are pretty good (Limb length and torso length) as well you keep picking gorgeous colors. Just keep doing what you're doing.
