...Now her heart took winter as its model. Bleak-mute, with frozen fragilities of memory, carefully guarded against the storms of silence; those, which given the opportunity, would murmur its ruin, would render it into so many glittering razor shards.

Shards of frozen memories
Lace down in silver bolts
To pierce my frozen heart
And shatter all my humanity

A storm of pain sends lightening lacing down –
Whipping this ordered world of mine into chaos

Sitting, pressed against rough solidity,
I stare out into the vortex –
My shattering serenity.

A storm of failing reason sends lightening lacing down –
Sitting, pressed against rough solidity,
I stare out into the vortex –
My tenuous grasp of reality
My shattering serenity.

*smirks* You wanted teenaged angst? You got teenaged angst

:-) Darien Gerke replies: "Hmmm...was this comment for me, or Ladybird?"

*sheepish* Actually, it was kinda for both of you...*blush* I wanted to make some little ditties because you asked but after I re-read the comments, I thought my ditties seemed sort of stupid...like teenaged angst...so I said that they were...so no one would say they sucked. *highly embaressed*

...sorry...

O.O I like the poems! *points* You going to use them?

*pats Natlie* Don't worry, they don't sound like teenaged angst to me...but that may be because I am one...*shrugs*

Hullo, does anybody bother to think that angst might be what makes the poems good? We have emotions, and I think it's very unfair to lable them all as "angst." I always wondered if those bits of descriptive poetry were made up by you or quoted from some famous person!
The piece is excellent. Her skirt, the way it flows, is so beyond my level of creativity that I could just cry. You really got the feel of winter in there, makes me feel sorry for people who live in sunny, sunny Florida.

:-) Darien Gerke replies: "Thank you! If I can, I use lyrics from the songs that influenced my painting-they are so much more poignant than what I can write when one knows the music behind them."

My goodness this is amazing! I love the curve of everything and I also love how you managed to put the checker board type pattern into her wings- its unbelievable! I could never have such patience for straight lines and wonderful shading! Keep up the lovely work! 12

Wow 0_0. Love her dress. I never thought someone could put a checkered pattern on wings and make it look good.

Lovely title, beautiful picture. There’s a simplicity in it that speaks to me. Really good work!
