About the picture

This is Colton Hamshire's character from his story "Barrom Brawl". I picked up Velanor and i drew him as i imagine him to be. (Colton, i hope you like him!!! And yes his front view looks stupid, i know. Don't worry 'cause ill fix it up.XD)

About the drawing

Well... same stuff as usual. I sketched it up in drawing paper, inked it with my black pen, ann then coloured it with my coloured pencils. Then, scanned it up and corrected it on Photoshop.

Not bad... not bad at all. o_O Very nice torso.

But the ear on the one with the torso is a bit too close to the eye; it should probably be further back... at least, the connection with the top of it to the face. Tends to angle back, not forward. Agh, hard to explain, just grab some random person and use them as a model if you’re not following what I mean.

:-) Márcia Esperança replies: "Yeah you’re right. anyways this is just a messy coloured sketch; i didn’t had much work to do this. It’s just, like i said on the description, a "study" of Colton’s character. And thanks for pointing that out, i’ll correct it the next time i draw an elf. XD"

Hey stopping by to see the picture. I like it. You did a great job, but there are a couple of things I’d like to point out to make it more accurate to the character, and sorry not to mention them in the story or eariler. Velanor has a dark brown hair, about the length you have. You did a awesome job with the hair syle by the way. Another thing is that Velanor lived a rough life on the streets, so his appearace is hardened. He has done a light of fighting. His face bears a few slight scars visible under the right lighting and he usually wears a sly smirk. Thank you for drawing him though! That was awesome!

ha ha doody, i read that story, it is amazing, totally priceless - you have caught the aloof quality of Velanor’s character perfectly - he looks so cool! 1

:-) Márcia Esperança replies: "Thankyou very much again!"

Sorry, but I think the forehead is too.... too.... I can’t find the word... too.... big? The others are fine. ^^ Well, that’s only my opinion. It can be true or false :|

:-) Márcia Esperança replies: "Ok, i also think that too. XD"

The profile looks a little strange. I wouldn’t think he’d have such a strange forehead looking at the other pictures.

:-) Márcia Esperança replies: "Yeah, ur right. I hate his front view because of that, it looks... blah."

Ola, Marcia! I really like this picture ! He looks manly and brave. Good musculature. You have given him an expression both serious, yet sensitive. You have real talent , and as a retired commercial Artist, i assure you- you could pursue that field if you wanted to. Art is mostly about expressing feelings, and emotions and you do that very well! Lynn told me about your work, and i feel exactly like she does- you have great potential as an artist. Of course, you may have many other hobbies and interests that you are pursuing, but we encourage you to continue to develop your art, even as a hobby. it is such a joy to be able to express your thoughts and ideas in pictorial form. keep up the really good work!

:-) Márcia Esperança replies: "Hi! AWWWW, you said hi in portugese! *.* Thanks! You were a commercial artist? Oh, OMG! 111 Well, actually, this one is the field i want to follow. Art is not just a hobbie for me, i’m addicted to it - But it’s a good addict! Not like the other ones! 1 I love to draw and i do it whenever i can! I just can’t stop! Thankyou ALOT, sure i will!"
