| 18 Nov 2003 | Alexander E. Brittan | Fabulous site! I read both stories, they are so good!!! Alex P.s. I'd gladly draw illustrations for your stories! Dave C. Duguay replies: "Thank you Alex. You are talented also, especially considering your age. There is no reason why you should not create great things in your life. As for the illustrations... I'd be honored, of course! Anyone who wants to can." | |
| 20 Nov 2003 | DaveDoobie <davedoobie@sha...ca> | Sup Dave-man. I think this page roXors. Although I think your readers would enjoy my site much, much more. Anyway, keep up the good work (if that's what you do - work). Uh...running out of things to say...so stand up, turn around and throw something at me so I have a reason to throw something at you - yea ! | |
| 3 Dec 2003 | Jeff Burke | I like the way the story keeps you wondering...but I have to ask: Are you trying to keep us confused about what the race of the characters are. If you are, then you're doing a great job. Both stories are grammatically perfect, as usual. I also liked the shift from third person limited in the first part to first person perspective in the second. It makes me wonder if the whole story isn't going to be from the fish's point of view... Well, you keep writing them, and I'll keep reading them! P.S. Would you please look over my latest story? Please... Dave C. Duguay replies: "Thanks again... um as for the POV angle, the Kurthak story leaves the subjects as a "tribe" before they are "orcs" in order to get the reader to more closely identify with them. Trying to break from the stereotype a little, one of my fave ideas in fantasy is the warrior society... The second chapter, if you want to look up the monster, involves an Aboleth. (It's in the MM if you want to look it up.) If I was vague about the description it's because alot of the time if you're into a story, the less descriptive I am the more imaginative the reader has to be. Trying to think of an author that does this better than I do... Definitely King, in fact he goes into that in his "On writing" autobiography, if you want to call it that. " | |
| 16 Feb 2004 | Emily McDurman | I very much enjoyed your stories. And as to comment from your bio: your characters are very much alive by my standards. | |
| 9 Mar 2004 | Jo T. Burrows | Hey, Dave, gotta say I like your writing. I recently joined Wyvern's Library (so now I don't just draw pictures, but now I also write things too!) so if you ever have the time/tolerance to check out my stories it would be much appreciated. Dave C. Duguay replies: "Hey, thanks alot Jo, I dig your stuff too, I gotta keep checking to see when the next chapter of your "boundaries" piece comes up." | |
| 11 Mar 2004 | Lonnie | Hi dave great stories, i an very proud of you, this is what you should be doing for a living....Back to school..They need you... Dave C. Duguay replies: "This is my Aunt. Thanks for the support, love ya." | |
| 24 Mar 2004 | Jo T. Burrows | Howdy there Dave, just dropping a comment, (seeing as you aren't on msn at the moment) to tell you that a chapter of Purple Boundaries is now up as well as a short story. Well not really a short story, it's more focusing around one event or scene... but anyway... Keep up the good work, I'm trying my best to do the same. While I wait for the wait before I can submit a new ticket again I'll be working on the next chapter of Purple Boundaries. Hope you enjoy! Dave C. Duguay replies: "Damn I'm pretty slow at getting back to these comments... 2006 huh. Time flies. I enjoyed purple boundaries! " | |
| 13 Jul 2004 | Karen D. Morey | Hey just dropping a line that I have more stuff up Dave C. Duguay replies: "Thanks for dropping in 2 years ago, once again I am very envious of your artistic ability. You should submit some Thayan stuff to wizards, see if they can use it. No harm in trying. " | |
| 16 Jul 2004 | Janine Jacques | Hello there. You left a nice little message at my gallery so I thought I would come and check you out here. So, you live in the "Wack" too? Not to many Elfwood folk come from good ole Chilliwack. Well I have just started to read some of your wonderful writings, and I plan to finish, so off I go... Dave C. Duguay replies: "Wish I had some more stuff online for you to check out, one of these days I'll be ready to start hyping The Dissident properly, I might post the first chapter here if Dragon mag doesn't want it. Thanks for the compliment!" | |
