If you remember putting a comment on my Unicorn, telling me you were "wondering if my unicorn had a mirror twin with a detailed human body and a horse part that's all shadowed darkly"... well.... I wanted to tell you he does have one ^^ you can browse my gallery and I'll be glad to know what do you think of it.

:-) Douglas Eckhart replies: "I will go by there and check! I know it's been a while since you left the comment on my page, but I just now got back to elfwood. I hope the picture is still there! 1"

*glomp*

Hello. It all looks new and strange, so naturally I'm going to have to play with it all ... later ... not now. No, not now.

*runs*

:-) Douglas Eckhart replies: "It looks a bit different, but it's all basically the same. I actually like all the improvements, especially since things seem to be running smoothly. I never updated fast enough for Elfwood to be a problem for me, unlike many of the more prolific writers/artists.
Unfortunately, now the profile page and the Writings page are in separate places, so I can't explain the list of stories on this page. I used to have a short explanation of what they were, but not visitors just have to take their chances. 1"

To change what it says about you at the top of the page with your writings in, change what it says in your short personal description (that used to be a private non-viewable thing in your profile) and click the save button that appears to the right of the box. ^_^

Mine says something like 'is a college student who dabbles in writing' ... so if you changed yours to 'is whatever. Please see profile for story descriptions' that'd work quite nicely, me thinks.

:-) Douglas Eckhart replies: "But... that changes your short description everywhere, doesn't it?

Doesn't that also appear at the top of your profile page, and after your name on the list of 'recent additions' that people can access from the Elfwood start page.

It would be odd to change all of those to a long list on descriptions of what works I have online. Not that my name appears very frequently on 'recent additions', that would only be about once per year. 8"

:-) Douglas Eckhart replies: "Thank you for all the comments! I think one of them got deleted by accident because the new comment system on elfwood is a bit crazy at the moment.

Thank you for visiting my page, and I hope you eventually get an account on here so I can read some of the things you’ve written. 2"

I read all your stories and my favorite is "The Trail of the Golden Mongoose" and "My Unicorn is so Horny" You are an AMAZING writer and I love reading your stuff. Please let me know when you put more up!! -aletheia

:-) Douglas Eckhart replies: "Thanks for visiting! I was wondering if anyone actually read, "The Trail of the Golden Mongoose." I’m glad to hear that it’s your favorite. I’m sorry that I was so slow responding to your comment. ;_;"

Enjoyed my visit tonight, Douglas. Come on over and visit me again! I think you might like The Last Stand... just based on what I read here tonight. 12 You can feel free to email me privately if you ever want a little edit. I’m always willing -- especially when I see talent that will benefit from nurturing. Keep writing, Douglas.

:-) Douglas Eckhart replies: "Thank you for stopping by and for your comments. I have been out of things for a while (as you have probably guessed since there are no updates during all of 2008 ). I will try to read more of your stories soon, especially "The Last Stand" which you recommended.

Happy New Year! I hope 2009 is good to you!"

Hi there! *runs up to you, grabs hand, and shakes it like a jumprope*

I hear you give some worthwhile critiques, so please stop by my profile! But don’t comment on my ELET story, its been rewritten and I’m waiting for the mods to process the ticket. However, because chaptrs 2-3 of Cardinal have been delayed by a...well...speed bump...I still have time to fix up chap 1! I need critiques there and I’m not getting enough, so I don’t know what else to fix!

Swing by in about a week (or longer) to see if the newer ELET is up!

*lets out breath* now that I got that outta my system...Great Stories! I’ve read like *counts fingers and toes* All of them! Loved them all and found several to be inspirational. Please update summore pls!

:-) Douglas Eckhart replies: "I don’t know if there are enough items on my shelf to require you to count on fingers and toes. ^^;; You’re right about the fact that I need to update more... I need to write more first. ;_; I’m glad you liked the few things that are on there, though. ^^

I will avoid reading ELET, since you warned me about that one, I’ll read um... the other one instead! ^^"

*freezes suddenly* You live in NC?!?!? I used to, but two long and cold years ago we moved up here in AK to a not so tropical island, Kodiak. Its as big as all the Hawaiian islands smooshed together and more, but we don’t even have a fifth of the population. I miss NC REALLY bad, but ah well. We got mountains and grizzly bears here (not polar bears or penguins, as most of my NC friends still think. They still believe our backyard is an iceburg). Sure we have cold (not to mention wet) winters and semi-warm summers, but its not like we live on a chunk of ice (just a chunk of rock).

Oops, I’ve been talking to myself! I admit I complain about this place, but I’m actually more of a cold weather person and I like the small town and all the wilderness. If I were to move back to NC there’d be a heap I’d miss of Kodiak. Geeze, we Coasties don’t seem to belong anywhere!

*storms off and rants at other people*

:-) Douglas Eckhart replies: "Hey, we actually got SNOW here last week. Of course it all melted two days later when the temperature shot up to 70F, but... ^^;;;

Someday I hope to make it up to Alaska or British Columbia to see things up there, but I’m stuck in NC for now, I think."
