"Cyranthior" by David Mitchell

Here is an NPC from yet another message board game that ended before I 
had the chance to introduce him. Cyranthior is a Doomguard ranger. In 
addition, he is a Doomlord, having risen through the ranks of his 
faction and undergone a transformation on the Negative Energy Plane so 
horrible it's only spoken in whispers and innuendo. He wears a robe and a 
black-and-red mask emblazoned with the faction's skull symbol. Supposedly, 
the transformation has drained some of his personality and left him a 
zealous ambassador of decay.<br /><br />Closely flanking Cyranthior is 
his companion, a Deinonychus from the Forbidden Plateau of the 
Beastlands. This creature is known to the locals and adventurers who've seen it 
only as a "land eagle", or "eagle-leopard". 
Essentially, that's what dromeaosaurs are--flightless, predatory birds with 
teeth and claws.
