SciFi and Fantasy Art Grock, Sakai, and ´Star´. by David Mitchell

These are the three characters in the Planescape campaign I'm running. We have an elven fighter/mage/thief (known only as 'Star'), a magically altered ogre (Grock), and a samurai from Kara-Tur (Sakai). Various reasons cause each of them to enter portals which bring them to Sigil, where they find themselves involved in a dangerous web of treachery involving inter-faction conspiracies, planar travel, double-crossings, sight seeing, bizzare ties, weird sex, and bitter vengance. The title is Marbled Cake, and this is the first MC pic I drew.

21 Oct 2002	Kelley A. Flanagan	Loading... They all look to be floating in space. Try adding a background, I think it would look really good then... David Mitchell replies: "Yes, I was considering adding a background but this pic has gathered much dust and irrevocable fingerprints etc, which takes a bit of manual touching up in the scanning program to present it as is. Regardless, I'm less concerned about the lack of a background here because my main accomplishment here was drawing the three characters perfectly to scale and make them all appear standing at the same place (Grock is 9'6", Sakai is 5'6", and Star is 5'1"). You'd be surprised at how hard this is, and how frequently I "cheat" (look at UnderSigil, for instance). "
26 Nov 2002	Anonymous	Loading... I think you should make the faces a little more bold. I would give them more character then all straight faces, unless thats what you are trying to acheive. Other then that. I love the artwork!
3 Jan 2003	Kennigh	Loading... Tough nugs.... man everyone's a critic.... hey u can always draw 4 me. OK, the only thing here is that you tried to have everyone look like they were in the same place that's fine... it just wasn't achieved here. The drawings themselves r wonderfully detail and as u mentioned - TO SCALE, a very daunting task... U succeeded greatly! (request) a mage/thief sun elf necromancer black hair gold eyes 5'0 - 5'1" approx 100 lbs. slightly behind and to one side of a fighter human w/ half plate long blondish white hair a little chain here and there. dramatic scene preferred.... good work.
