The split down the middle creates such an interesting constrast between the two faces, the night and darkness, and is so well done that the city behind adds a wonderful depth. Amazing pic! David Mitchell replies: "The background for Izmobe's half of the picture is actually a (black and red, but black and white here) painting of the landscape of the plane. The original pic itself has no background behind Izmobe. I was considering insering a few of his cohorts, namely Chen Barkhang and Hiro (who have not been illustrated yet), but I left it blank and scanned it in anwyway. So what we're acutally looking at here is a scan of a scan--where I manually cut around Izmobe's form with scisors and placed it over the background. I may add something different to the original and scan it in as a new version. "

Adding the background was a stroke of genius. Themmatt also looks like a shady character, too. Which is difficulty to do in half a picture.
