'I will mourn for your loss, and sing for your soul. Doomed to walk the realms as a spectre for surely the heavens of our kind are closed to you now. It is a shame to meet one of my kind here in this 'hell' only to meet one with a soul as blackened as a Tannari... Now all you must do is die' --Star
Star duels with a fellow elf named Salogel in the Hive. In the background we can see Sakai and Sharrick fighting a few khaasta.

WOW! I absolutely love the detail! I think this piece is wonderfully drawn. Good job and congrats on Mod's choice!

It's nice, but GAH! it's waaay too busy. You can't seperate the characters from the background.

keep working on it, you'll get there.

the comment above does hold some truth- the person could have said it much better though...really, if you work on the values/contrast it will distinguish the foreground and background and easier to view. But good job!

Horizon = eye-level of the viewer. Anyone that is bigger than the viewer has his eyes above the horizon, anyone smaller has his eyes below, to put it simply.

Haha, congrats on getting mod's choice, you just keep lining 'em up eh? I agree with some other commenters that the figures in the foreground get overshadowed by the background. Maybe you should use a broader sized pen for linework in the foreground, to create thicker lines. Nevertheless, the ink linework makes the picture look sharper and tidier, and the black parts in the sky give the picture a nice effect. One more thing: according to perspective rules, right now Salogel is taller than Sakai and the Khaasta. Keep the horizon in mind when drawing perspective. Overall a great pic, worthy of mod's choice.

That arrow sure didn't go far. O_o

:-) David Mitchell replies: "That's because he stabbed Star in the leg with it when she crept up behind him (hence the wound on her right thigh). "

I have no idea what these people keep talking about in regards to "perspective". Maybe that's why I can't draw...
