Tag As FavoriteComment		I finished it! Yay! Finally, it is done. I'm rather proud since I said I would finish it this week and here we are, Friday night, and it's done! I'm so happy but so tired. There were a lot of trials and tribulations getting through this painting... It's my first 'serious' attempt at fantasy art - combining my school-acquired art skills (realism and paint) with my true love, illustration. This is a birthday gift for my older sister. It's also fan art for the book Banewreaker by Jacqueline Carey. I was really taken by the relationship between the sorceress, Lilias, and the dragon, Calandor. It's so ... compelling - at least to me - and sad. Oh, so sad. Acrylics. 8.5 x 11 in. About a billion hours.

Awesome! Finally someone painted something out of Carey�s duology. Also I like the depiction of that wicked Soumani� (boohoo, someone steal it back from Aracus and give it to Lilias).
