When I lived in Buffalo, NY, there was this beautiful park, called Delaware Park, that was so exoctic, mysterious and intriguing in the evening. I would walk so often there. I envisoned this as a place for a vampire to enjoy spending time and of course cathing its prey. I made this out of charcoal.

I love her face, is beautiful...

13 Deanna Davoli replies: "Thank you...actually it is not a she or a he....it is andgionous, neither sex...just an FYI, but if you want it to be a she, that is cool with me. Thank again for all of your comments."

This is soooo pretty! For some reason though it reminds me of the art on the Lemony Snicket books (Series of Unfortunate Events). It's very beautiful though.

:-) Deanna Davoli replies: "Thank you for finding this piece pretty. I know its dark in appearance, but I have always found the vampire to be in peaceful state as well. I am not familiar with that author, but I will have to check him/her out next time at the book store. Thank you for your comment."

Your style is very original and unique, and that's ment positive !
I love the pic because its so natural, I feel so much emotions in it 1

1 Deanna Davoli replies: "I am very glad that you feel emotion in my drawing. That is such a compliment! What more could an artist ask for! Thank you."

Great atmosphere in this one! The thumbnail really caught my eye as I was flipping through. I think it was the sense of depth conveyed with so few lines(apparent in even a smaller version). The vampire looks decidedly female to me though lol.

12 Deanna Davoli replies: "Thank you for your comment. I am glad that the thumbnail caught your eye...maybe I should use that as my thumbnail in my gallery picture?? I sometime think the vampire looks female, but I did not intend for it to be either sex. Maybe cause Im a girl it just automatically gets a femine feel to it...lol. "

The vampire is really beautiful... the contast of her pale cheekbone and the shadows around it... how her hair flows up to look like branches on the trees.. this makes me wish I could use charcoal without making a huge mess... *sigh*

1 Deanna Davoli replies: "Aww, dont be sad, Im sure your work is great!! Thank you so muc for your in depth comment and written description of your feelings."

I haven't commented on this? Im rather shocked *throws self out window. Climbs back into his chair and starts to write again* Owww. Wel anymoo the tone is brilliant, and i get this porcelin mask effect which makes her truly scary, but her being beautiful at the same time, portrays what effec vampires have on people. Darkness also gives a darker (hmm kindof self explanatery really) feel as well as an evil one.

13 Deanna Davoli replies: "Dont throw yourself out of the window...we would miss you too much here!! Im glad you picked up on the double side or effect I was trying to portray from the figure. That is definately what I was trying to achieve, beauty, mystique and horror all in one charcoal package. Thanks for commenting!"

Wow, i really like this picture!!! It reminds me something from my dreams. I feel like i have seen it before....
Especially i like the vampire in this picture. He/she is very nice. Only if to look at the face proportions the nose may be a bit shorter. But the way you draw it gives a picture a special mood. And i also like the background2

12 Deanna Davoli replies: "I wanted to give a dreamy like feel, so at least I know I achieved that, thanks. In regards to the nose, I noticed that it appeared elongated too while I was doing it, but charcoal does not erase too well, so I had to leave. I kind of like that it is a bit distorted because it adds to the feel. Thanks so much for commenting, I greatly appreciate it and the constructive criticism!!"

Blurgh charcoal I hate charcoal! but I like it when other people use it Ha ha lol! Brilliant piccy!

1 Deanna Davoli replies: "I love the effect I can achieve using charcoal, but I do not use it in my home studio because I have carpet....that would be a big mess!!"
