On certain days of high summer, it is said by the tribes of the Great Gerbil Desert that one can see the Winged Gerbil herself in the heavens, treading her celestial hamster wheel in eternal search of the Three Sunflower Seeds.

In memory of Nuttie, March 27, 2004. *snug!*

Watercolor pencil, watercolors, and crayon (the stars) on filter paper.

:-) Diana M Chien replies: "Thank ye kindly. Couldn't have done it without my gerbil!"

:-) Diana M Chien replies: "Oh, hurrah for the gerbil fans! Sadly, the gerbil (Hazel) that this picture was modeled on just passed away... but I'm planning to adopt two new ones ASAP. *grin* Thanks!"

This speaks to me...

Why?

Due to some random...Very VERY random chain of events that even I can't remember, I use "CelestialGerbil" as my account name for any games I play. I thought it was unique....

Late (or early depending upon your definition) one night I just decided to "google" the name, and out popped this (and a few straggling posts and whatnots that are linked to that name)!

Anyways! I was wondering, would it be okay with you, if I used this image (for non-profit purposes of course), for things like avatars?

I realize this is the first comment on this image in something like two years, so if you don't respond, that's fine.

:-) Diana M Chien replies: "That is the most RANDOM thing ever! Pretty much. XD Wow, talk about coincidence. As this is a pretty old painting, I have no problem with it being used as avatars, etc. - please just be sure to credit me! Thank you very much for asking."

It reminds me of my hamster running around in its wheel...this lil cutie's running in circles in the stars! (that's how I interpret it)

One Word: C-U-T-E!

:-) Diana M Chien replies: "Thanks so much! My gerbils always destroy their wheels (soft plastic wheels = bad idea), but I do have a running ball for them - which is what I thought of with this one."
