I do have to say, though, that your digital pics lack some of the life that your traditional media seems to have. More traditional!!Keep it up! Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "Thanks! I agree. I think working in traditonal media is more satisfying and I think it's made me a better artist."

Cortopassi replies: "Thanks! It's taken some effort to make the transition, but I think it's been worth it. I find it much more personally satisfying."

| 19 Oct 2007 | Casey D. Campbell | Loading...Hey Daniel..you have a strong skill with prismacolors. I have yet to achieve that quality yet with them. Its amazing how they lack a grainyness...do you use smoother board and also incorporate prismamarker's..?? Daniel A. Cortopassi replies: "Thanks! I don't use any special tools, really. It's mostly a matter of technique when using the pencils, going over an area repeatedly until I get a solid color. It's possible to blend colors this way, too, layering several different pencil colors on top of one another. Once in a while I use a paper blending stump, but usually I can get the effect I want just by working the pencils. Varying the amount of pressure on the pencil makes a difference, though too much and the "lead" will break. I have not tried markers." | |
