Happy Chinese New Year~"
| 15 Feb 2008 | Aaron "Ren" Yeo | Loading...It is a lubble poem and it describes exactly what Merina is going through.. Somehow someone wants to be Merina now.. hahaha.
I enjoyed reading this the first time and I will forever enjoying reading it as it makes the heart feels sad but also pitiful for the dear Merina. If I was her, I would not want to have any other person whom I love, for I only love you. *abit of quotation from the poem itself*
Hehehe *post comments* ^___^
Ren <3 Désirée Dippenaar replies: "Yay~~ Finally comments again! ^_^
Heh, it IS rather sad, a bit depressing maybe It’s funny how sometimes I get these crazes where I write a lot about Merina and Theo, and then other times I get completely disinterested again. But I’m glad you like this one. ^^"

And very good rythm too! Désirée Dippenaar replies: "Thank you! ^^ These are my ’tragic characters’ - I love to make them suffer
Thanks for reading! ^_^"
| 10 Apr 2008 | Leigh *Shwin* Erickson | Loading...Hello! Sorry it took me so long to get over here >.< I do appreciate your commenting... but anyways, on to your poem...
The plot itself reminds me of a Khalil Gibran story- The Broken Wings, perhaps? Such a tragic happening to be uncontrollably married to another... you captured it well, I think. The repetition is very effective here. It flows well as well.. I don’t really have much to critique on as free verse-ish poetry is largely up to the author. I’m not sure if there is another way to write the line about the crickets’ song- I think that’s the only thing that stood out to me as something I would want to fiddle with. I’m not sure why- helpful, aren’t I? In any case, enjoyable read... and hey, tragic characters are fun^_~ Désirée Dippenaar replies: "Don’t worry about taking long I always take long-er
I’m glad you liked the poem! You’re right about the cricket line... ah well, I’m not sure I’ll be bothered to change it anymore; this is one of those poems that I write on a whim and can’t bother touching ever again hahaha~
Thanks for reading and commenting ^_^"
| 26 Apr 2008 | Natalie Adams | Loading...oh...i want to cry now, no really, i am moved to tears!!!!! I’m in awe! Désirée Dippenaar replies: "Wow, I’m glad you liked it~ ^^ I tend to have a low opinion of my own poems, so I’m glad it had a good effect " | |
| 4 May 2008 | Dreamer | Loading...man....that waz beautiful *wipes away tears* you are a very talented person. keep it up!!! Désirée Dippenaar replies: "Thanks! I guess most of my talent comes with boredom or procrastination... I actually wrote this poem once when I was supposed to be doing homework o.O" | |
| 26 May 2008 | Mike j Wagner | Loading...its ok... kinda jumpy but ok... Désirée Dippenaar replies: "Haha I know... I don’t really like this poem anymore really, I wrote better ones when I was 12 Thanks for reading!!" | |
| 9 Jul 2008 | Michael pixie john | Loading...hey merina
betrothed to an elf
in love with a boy
be true to yourself
so shy and so coy
believe in the love
that destiny brings
the fates and the graces
the stories they sing
i love the sentiments in your poem
and the persistent pleading of the hurting elf girl
its kind of heavy but beautiful Désirée Dippenaar replies: "Thanks! I’m glad you like it This is my long-suffering pair; I have hundreds of versions of their story and I can never quite figure out which story should be their actual one - because all of those versions are actually quite conflicting! Thanks for reading~"
| 16 Jul 2008 | Kelsey M. Graham | Loading...Beautiful poem. I usually don’t like poetry (can’t write it either), but this is wonderful, even if you don’t like it all that much anymore. Désirée Dippenaar replies: "I’m glad you like it! Me and poetry are in a love-hate relationship. Usually once I’m done with a poem (or actually even prose stuff) I love it to pieces. Then as soon as I’ve uploaded it onto Elfwood and it’s sitting in the ticket queue I wonder why I ever was so stupid as to show such a rubbish piece of writing to the public And then a few months later I love it again. It’s crazy!
Thanks for reading " | |
| 31 Oct 2008 | Jess L Rhapsodos | Loading...*Sniff* After recently watching Titanic for the first time in my life (very shocking, I know) this is very sad for me. I know it is about your characters, Merina and Theodore, but I just picture Jack and Rose. *Wipes eyes*
Very good poem, well written. Really sad though.
Thanks for checking out my page. Glad you liked my carrot roasting dragon. Désirée Dippenaar replies: "I’m glad you liked it! Hm, now that you’ve mentioned it, it does seem to kind of suit Titanic a bit. I haven’t watched it for years ahaha~
Thanks for reading! ^^"
