Désirée is a writer masquerading as an artist

I am an 18-year-old missionary kid and have been drawing for ages - even before I started writing. Being a perfectionist, though, I don't draw nearly as much as I used to in the past, and prefer writing, because I do that better.

I draw with pencils and coloured pencils usually, and occasionally watercolours (which aren't here, though, because the scanner kills them and also because I paint landscapes that look absolutely un-fantasy). I don't really draw many fantasy-related pictures, which is why my gallery is so small. Most of those I do draw are related to my stories in some ways - I hope to improve my drawing skills, though, because more often than not, my characters don't turn out like they should!!

Interests
Theology, history, literature, music (listening to it, and playing flute), various crafts (mainly making cards, jewellery, notebooks; also knitting and cross-stitch), philosophy, reading (a lot a lot a lot!)

Favorite Fantasy/Scifi Movies and TV Shows
The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia. I'm not that much into fantasy movies; I like war movies (anti-war war movies ;P ) and historical movies best.

Favorite Fantasy/Scifi Books
The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Inkheart. I don't read much else fantasy, because actually I prefer classics, especially Russian ones or books by Jane Austen. My very favourite books are missionary biographies.

Favorite Music
Classical, baroque, religious, Enya, Hayley Westenra, ABBA, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Steve Green, Bill Drake, Siegfried Fietz, all kinds of others. Generally depends on my mood or what I'm doing at the moment.

'Eo' Dippenaar replies: "I’m actually in the process of uploading two older pictures which involve a lot of landscape, and am painting a third. The look of the character is something a bit hard to do again - I am terrible at drawing people! But if I have time I’ll try and fiddle around again. I haven’t updated this page in forever."

No worries! i’m picky to thats why i don’t like my art work tell i do it to my level of exceptance (wonders if i’m even getting better at not looking at something while drawing has inproved...) soooooooo um how is life for ya? I have a perfect idea in my mind, then I draw it and it looks absolutely not how I imagined it, so I don’t like it Life’s been fine, I’ve been away this week, on a school trip in Cambodia where my class built some houses. Was very nice, in some ways fun and in some ways sad. There were some VERY insistent street children who clung on to me and said they wouldn’t go until I gave them one dollar o.O Hehe~"

Some shopping, some sight-seeing in the capital city (like royal palace, historical places like mass graves and torture centres from the 1970s when things were really bad there), and similar.
