The Want of the Inner Child.

My Inner Child is sleeping

She’s bound behind a door

And surrounded by walls of stone

So strong they drown her call

My Inner Child is weeping

She searches for the light

And the mightier her castle soars

The sadder grows her plight

My Inner Child is dying

Her time is slipping by

And if I do not free her soon

I’m afraid then so will I

My Inner Child is praying

A shadow in the mist

For me to breach her castle walls

And allay her weary triste

My Inner Child is helpless

Bound within bleak walls

And if we are both to live

The castle has to fall

So with grim determination

I chip away the stone

And when it crumbles at my feet

My Inner Child is home

My Inner Child is playing

She’s happy and she’s free

With love and care and nurturing

She’s resting within me

My Inner Child is busy

And having so much fun

We’ve built a castle in the clouds

A rainbow in the sun

Oh, how sad at the beginning, and yet how beautyful. "Say good-bye to the child inside/ it's fading out of sight/ say a prayer for the one to care/for the children of the night."

I agree I agree... So many people, after living in this everyday world for so long, tend to lose that which makes them themselves... Lucky, one of the few who could stop it before it got to the point of no return. No matter how dark I see everything ususally, I still refuse to believe that this world is the only reality, so I still do escape sometimes.. I love this, truly.

Ah, absolutely gorgeous and touching...Too often we forget our inner child locked away...

I think my inner child wants a sucker. I wish my inner child was as deep as yours, but mine is just lazy. Lazy and child like. =)

I really loved this! Although, my inner child is usually kicking and screaming about something or another! lol!
*ahem* You have truly captured something that a great many people do not comprehend. Our inner child can be so wounded and we do not even know it. It's a part of us that we tend to stuff away and stop listening to as we grow older, but it never truly leaves us. Walling that child up can kill our spirit as surely as any accident or disease.
This is so beautifully written.
