Just alittle something I'm working on. More to come when I feel like it.

As per request, Ayame has a camio in this dance around the block. Sprites can be interesting characters...

The Dark Dancers

Octavia sauntered into the midnight ball without a drop of rain on her fur coat. Her silky black hair swayed from side to side against her pale skin. Her piercing blue eyes surveyed the crowd looking for another of her kind, a vampyre.

A man, dressed in a jade suit and a ruffled white shirt, came up behind her. Octavia spun around, her indigo gown swirled around her legs, but no show of fear or surprise was evident on her face.

"Hello Charles," she said. He took her hand and gently kissed it.

"Octavia, darling, we must quit meeting like this." He held out his arm, "Care to dance?" She accepted, knowing it was going to be an interesting night with him around.

The Midnight Ball was popular among the people of the Hill Lands. When the rainbow colored leaves drifted to the ground everyone knew the time of the Crone was at hand. They figured that since the Madien and the Mother got celebrations, why not the Crone? The Mabon festival was the abolute perfect setting for merry wanderers of the night, for vampyres.

"Can you believe that I look foreward to this horrid human celebration every year," spat Octavia.

"Yes, yes I do. I do the exact same thing," he replied with a smile. "Did you bring Ayame? You know she loves these little shin-digs."

"She's around here somewhere." Octavia scaned the room, looking for a flutter of the little sprite's wings. With a shrug she said, "Probably outside eating bugs." Then added, "Or tormenting the drunks, which ever she found first." They laughed and kept on dancing.

Outside by the fire, Ayame was fluttering around the bar. She had collected a vast amount of flies and was now preceding to drown them in ale. The man who's beer she was using took one look at the five inch sprite then passed out. This left Ayame with full run of the table.

"con't:
As they spun round and round ignoring the rhythm of the
music, Ayame, a five inch sprite appeared at her bare
shoulders with a wide bright smile showing her tiny jagged
teeth.
"Octavia," she whispered in her sweet, tiny soprano-voice.
"Yes?" she waited without missing a beat.
"I'm hungry. They don't have any bugs in here."
"Go anywhere you will, little sweetheart, I'll call you when
I need more entertainment."
Ayame licked a patch of skin off Octavia's shoulder and
disappeared.

oh, please, please, please tell me you'll continue where i
left of. Please!!!! i love sprites and Ayame's my fave
character... been trying to write something about her and
still haven't had the right idea. Please say, you'll include my snippet!"

:-) Debra 'Shadow' Krause replies: "Quiet frankly I got nothing. If your little sprite would like to stay I can work her in."

Sounds intriguing... but the same comment as i made before about description. consider : her black hair swayed darkly from side to side, contrasting sharply with the snowy pallour of her smooth skin.
its just my two coppers, the piece is lovely nonetheless

:-) Debra 'Shadow' Krause replies: "Piece, yes. A piece of what is the question. Your two coppers have been gladly accepted by the Twilight Fund. Please feel free to donate anytime."

Just one tiny question: When are you going to finish this one? You haven't even finished the last story you were working on. It's a good story and all, but it only just begun. Now you have all summer to work on both. Sprites are funny, edible little creatures.

:-) Debra 'Shadow' Krause replies: "What have you been eating?"

it may be none of my business, but the thing about the sprite in the above comment is not at all in the same theme, color, texture, or tone of the scene. I liked this, though, mysterious and dark... good work.

:-) Debra 'Shadow' Krause replies: "I think I've worked her in to fit the atmosphere. It's not the scene that she put in her comment. Hopefully this will turn out to be some of my better work, if I ever finish it..."

Oh tell me you'll continue this. You really set a mood here and made me curious as to what will happen next.

It's a lovely piece and very well written. My only problem is that it ended a bit abruptly, imo. I realise that is because it is unfinished though, so my complaint is that it ended mid-scene for my feeling and I want to know how it continues.

But anyway, very lovely piece.

:-) Debra 'Shadow' Krause replies: "My talent for endings had appeared once again! And I'm sure it won't be the last time. I'm slowly working on this, really people I am. I'll be sure to tell you when I update this."

Oh... I like this the best of all!!! This looks like a fun little story, I hope that you stop cutting off this way and finish this!!!*repeat after me* I WILL FINISH THIS...
