She hated him for forcing her. As he had forced her to do everything. To live under his rule. To be a leader. To be his lover. To be his mate.
To be a wolf.
No one fought for the right to be the superior leader of the pack. They all stepped down for her because of him. They all thought the match was perfect. That they rivaled each other in everything they did together. He fought for dominance, and she fought for equal respect. They danced a dance of danger filled with pain and sparks of passion.
Her lupine eyes scanned the audience around her before locking with Gregorys. His gaze laughed at her mocked her. She let out a low growl, warning him. He laughed out loud, a rich throaty laugh.
"
Ally, do you not enjoy the fur and freedom of your other self? Test your senses. Are they not sharper than your human form? Feel your limbs, your muscles. Do you not feel stronger? As if you were meant to be a wolf more than a human?"He threw his head back and howled as he began to Change.
She saw her mate for what he truly was, a beautiful black wolf with emerald green eyes, powerful muscles, broad paws with sharp claws.
He could kill her for her insolence if he did not love her. And love her, he did.
She decided she could give the wolf a chance only if he would treat her with enough respect to let her have time to get comfortable in her other form.
She looked up to she the black wolf staring back at her, tongue lolled and waiting.
