The clarity and definition of the lines is something I’m working very hard at learning so its impressive to see it carried out so well. And all your stamp designs are so cool! I knew -somebody- had to design artistic stamps like those, but it never really crossed my mind as to who. So it was very neat to come across someone like you who does create them. Cathey Osborne replies: "Thanks! I have studied the Japanese art of Ukiyo-e, which gave me a strong affection for clean lines. It has caused me problems with shading things, though. If you are interested, check out the works of Hokusai, Kuniyoshi, and Yoshi-toshi. be warned that while they created a lot of beauty, it is Japanese and there’s also a lot of violence." | |
