SciFi and Fantasy Art Apollocon Space Cows Sampler ©2007 by Cathey Osborne

Apollocon is a Houston, Texas based multi-genre con. I've been working with them since year one, and we are progressing now into year 5. :) Somewhere along the way, a cow was chosen as the con mascot, and someone asked if I could do a few clip-art bits. I've been doing them ever since. I look at ti as an exercise in composition - just how much can you do with cows in spacesuits?

The cartoon block in the middle was a part of a caption contest for the 2007 con.

22 Oct 2007	Ruth E. Steinback	Loading... I’m really impressed by how wide a range of stylistic interpretations you achieved on the same theme. You managed to get a lot of different effects with mixing more and less cartoony elements in each piece that I know takes a lot of ingenuity and skill to achieve. Its a really neat collection! The top middle looks like it could fit into a Far Side collection quite nicely. I’d love to know what the captions were like for it. My favourite is the little one in the top right corner though -- its adorable! Cathey Osborne replies: "Thanks! I’m doing another varietal group for Apollocon this year as well.
