This is my first attempt at a dragon in about 11 years. Before this all of my dragon attempts resembled reptilian giraffes. I was inspired to draw this pic by Mischa Goodman's dragon art and I would also like to thank Margaret Cottrell for allowing me to use her Wise Warrior piece as a head design template. This piece was also a commision piece for Battle Axe Games inc.

Brilliant dragon but also great job with the cave detailings. I like that it’s a limestone rather than the typical rocky caves.

:-) Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Thank you, your the first to ever notice that the caves are limestone. How’d you know that I was drawing limestone?"

The Dragon sure looks impressive! I like all the details about his skin. Splendid work!

:-) Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Thanks a bunch, the scales took so long to do."

I figured it was limestone because only limstone makes those sort of stalegmites/stalegtights. Limstone can be disolved in water and then rediposited- I don’t think there are any other minerals that really do that sort of thing in caves. NB by no means am I an expert.

:-) Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Your right on the mark. I used pictures of limestone caves as reference for the cavern."

I’m not a regular of this site, but while browsing the internet for tattoo ideas I stumbled upon your album. I really must say I’m truly impressed with your work; this piece in particular. My current body art surprisingly enough shows my love for dragons and admittedly I’m a rather harsh judge of dragon concept and design. If I may say so, you’ve knocked this one out of the park! I just simply couldn’t navigate away from this page without expressing my admiration of your considerable talents as an artist. Keep up the good work!
