Rebecca Hardy Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Thank you, expect to see me as I walk through your edge of the Woods. I took a quick peek and I expect to be there for awhile. I'll be there as soon as the holidays are done and my son stops trying to stab me with his new foam sword." | |
| 8 Jan 2005 | Anonymous | Loading...No offense, but why did he choose a chain when he could have done like a sword or something Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "No offense taken. I actualy wanted to put some sort of demon hand or something like that but my friend Bobby convinced me to put the chain." | |
| 8 Jan 2005 | Tegan L. Elliott | Loading...w00t w00t for you, mun!! It turned out awesome! the chain is incredible, i am so impressed with your skills with a pencil. and you weren't sure you could do it tsk tsk. Youz so siwwy, you should be giving lectures on how to do these types of things. One of these days you are going to have to face up to the fact that you are REALLY talented. You're so much better than most of the 'professional' artists we see at conventions. Now here, have a slice of apple pie *hands it to you on a silver platter* [was this one hell of a comment too? hehe, that made me laugh when i read that. ^_~] Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Hi Tegan, it's been awhile since you last came to my neck of the Woods and after reading your comment it was well worth the wait. Your comment is one of the most flattering and enthusiastic comments I've ever had. I'm realy happy how the chain turned out also. No that's not realy acurate either, I was dumb founded. I sat in front of my desk and just could not believe I had just drawn that darn chain. If you asked me to do it again I probably couldn't but just the same I'll take that slice of apple pie as a pat on the back. I want to thank you for your comment and yes I have to agree that it 'is' one hell of a comment. In fact from now on I'll be looking for your comments whenever I log on to my gallery and rest assured that you will see me in yours." | |
| 10 Jan 2005 | Dorothy N. Trauger | Loading...You know, when I saw the uncompleted version, I thought, "Now why is he stumped by the chain? Chains aren't THAT difficult, are they?" Now I get it! Gosh! All that rebounding light, and texture! Makes me cross-eyed just to THINK about drawing that! Makes me wonder if you used a real chain or something for reference.... And yes, he IS a questionable ally. ^_^ --Love and Peace!!! Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Thanks Dorothy, after 16 different tries and 16 cries of frustrations I finaly broke down and bought a 2ft length of chain. (feeling ashamed of his lack of skill)" | |
| 12 Jan 2005 | Tegan L. Elliott | Loading...Hey! *punches your arm* dont say things like that! *is referring to above comment* You are a very talented artist and the fact that you went out and bought a chain doesnt mean that you're unskilled, it just shows us that you really care about your art. If it had been me I would have just given up on it after the third try. But you were determined to do it and look what you accomplished! *sheepish grin* sorry bout your arm, I got a little carried away. Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Hi Tegan (rubbing his sore arm), I'm realy trying to not be too hard on myself about how I draw. It's just that it seems everyone has such an easy time of it except me, or at least it seems that way. I just get frustrated sometimes when I can't render something I know I can. Is it just me that go through periods like this or do you also?" | |
| 11 May 2005 | Somefreakylooknchick | Loading...who is O and O? stupid effer They don't know ** about art man this is really aggrivating (I curse like a sailer) *sigh* anyways this pic is really kewl You did an awsome job on the muscle and veins in the arm. The skull thing that attaches the chain to the arm is like...whoa Nevermind. I don't have the smarts to describe how I feel about this pic | |
| 19 Sep 2005 | James 'Jimbo Fett ' Inwood | Loading...The muscles, the shading, the chain...it's just excellent! This is my autistic little brothers favorite picture by the way. Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Thanks again Jimbo!! I'm glad you liked this one and especialy that your brother likes it also." | |
| 22 Jun 2006 | Rafael A. Martinez | Loading...Geezus Man; that Chain looks like it was a nightmare to draw! And no you going out to buy a chain doesn't mean you're untalented... we're just able to draw things we're familiar with more eaily than other things... which is why sometimes we'll end up drawing things that look mildly like ourselves... lol and to be honest; sometimes drawing from your head, you end up drawing what you THINK should be there, not what actually is there.... so drawing from real life will often help you finalize the look for those things you aren't too friendly with... Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "I completely agree, it is a lot easier to draw things familiar." | |
| 12 Aug 2007 | David E. Wilson Jr. | Loading...Great work in finishing this picture. In regards to an above comment you made: "Hi Tegan (rubbing his sore arm), I'm realy trying to not be too hard on myself about how I draw. It's just that it seems everyone has such an easy time of it except me, or at least it seems that way. I just get frustrated sometimes when I can't render something I know I can. Is it just me that go through periods like this or do you also?" I think everyone has this issue, I know I do. I'm glad you took my advice about the chain. I know you get frustrated about needing 'props' so-to-speak to help draw, but let me offer this as rebuttal: Look up Alex Ross (unless you know his art). It's all very realistic art, very good art. Even as skilled as he is, he uses props. Don't beat yourself up. Props are tools, like a model. It's just another piece of life around us that we base our own art on in our own way. Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "Thank you David, for the great reference in regards to Alex Ross. And i'm also glad that I took your advice about the props. I couldn't of made the chain as good as it is without it. In fact the entire pic would probably still be sitting on my table unfinished if I hadn't bought a length of chain as reference. So once again thank you." | |
| 2 Aug 2008 | Jack lee poynter | Loading...Unbelievably good (yeah i’m real good with superlatives), i only wish some day i can get close to this standard of drawing Lloyd Dennis Zacarias replies: "I just checked out your gallery and your farther along than I was at your age. By the looks of your art your already getting there too. I’m still learning as I go along so keep drawing " | |
