27 May 2008	Anonymous	Loading... I think that all of you are missing the main point... Of course it bears resemblance to Ariel’s father in "The Little Mermaid". If you knew Greek mythology, you would know why. Ariel’s father is actually based on the titan Oceanus, NOT Poseidon. For those of you wondering, Oceanus was the god of the deep ocean while Poseidon was the god of the sea. Some believe that Poseidon was actually cared for by the Oceanids, while others believe that he was swallowed by his father Cronos and did not escape for some time. Oceanids were the three thousand daughters of Oceanus and his sister, Tethys.
