| 5 Oct 2003 | Bonnie Sanborn | Nice gallery! My friend Kris pointed me your way. Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "Thanks for stopping by!" | |
| 21 Nov 2003 | Nathan Alexander Tumulty | Where are the updates???!!! Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "They're way back when I actually had time to draw. I have an unfinished picture of a lion/dragon/horse...thing at home. That's about it." | |
| 29 Nov 2003 | Keetsie Joy | You've got some great work here, Joan! I think "Marsh Unicorns" was my favorite. You don't see a lot of people working with black and white washes, and you pulled it off very well. I hope you find some more time to draw! I'm having the same problem right now. Keep up the good work!

| 10 May 2004 | Mr_Ego | GOOD PAGE!!!! HAMMEFALL RULES and see soon!!! Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "Ahh, one of the Joacim Cans' forum members has found his way here. Spifftastic!" | |
| 11 Aug 2004 | Kelsey <kcn@mch...com> | You have some beautiful work here, Desiree! I especially love the pictures which you have coloured, as they are bright and very nice. The best portion of each portrait would have to be the hair in my opinion. Just as a hint, you may want to make every separate strand visible in the air. I believe you can do that on Photo-Shop. By the way, we're practically neighbors! I live in Iowa, right on the Mississippi River! =) Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "Thanks for the comments and suggestions! Unfortunately I don't have Photoshop. I've been wanting it for awhile, but it's very expensive. " | |
| 17 Aug 2004 | Andrew Lindquist | Hey Joan, Andrew here stopping by to comment on your artwork. I like your pieces very much ranging from the spontaneous Earl to the new medium you were trying with those unicorns. I had to use inkwash in my drawing class this past year in college and I enjoyed it. Well I just wanted to drop by and state how I like your work and I'll definitely be stopping back. Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "Thanks! I like how the inkwash turned out (even though I only got a B on it) but I haven't been able to replicate that since. Every time I sit down to do an ink wash, it looks horrid. Of course, I haven't picked up so much as a drawing pencil in almost a year. Urgh, I need to do that." | |
| 17 Dec 2004 | Rachel A. *~*Wolf Eyes*~* McCausland | You + artwork = PRETTIFULNESS X 1,000,000!!!!! okay, that didn't even make sens to MEE! 0.0 *can't do math* your stuff is awsome to infinity and beyond! *gives joan a 'possum* isn't it cute?! MERRY CHRISTMAS! Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "A possum!!! YAY! *pets it*" | |
| 17 Jan 2005 | Lisa <XullraeZauviir@aol...com | A chance "meeting" by e-mail has led to this comment. You said you were not that good, but I disagree, you have loads of talent. Granted anyone has room for improvement, but it's the WANT to improve that makes a talented person better in the long run. Keep up the work, I like your stuff. ^_^ Maybe when you're not busy or get inspired I'll commission ya. I'm a patron of the arts lol! Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "Hah! Thanks! Though I haven't put pencil to paper (for art) in well over a year. I really never know when I'll get stabbed by the Invisible Art Faerie of Doom, since it happens at the most random and often inopportune times. Like when I don't have any art suplies on hand. " | |
| 13 Oct 2005 | Federico Diaz | Wow! Live journal, Myspace AND Elfwood. I had no idea you were also part of the Elfwood community. I really like your art, I would say you have a good hand for drawing animals and Nightmare Seaside would definitely be my favourite. (lol i love horses and unicorns) Keep it up, and remember: A Metal Heart is hard to tear apart!! Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "Hello!!! Yes, I'm a bit addicted to the internet. See you on Livejournal...and Myspace! Thanks for the comment. " | |
