A Nightmare standing by the ocean. First time coloring with Prismacolors (yay!) I worked on the background some more, but I need to push the colors a bit more so that they show up when scanned. So...yeah.

Magazies are great for poses. I use them a lot. You certainly did this guy justice! I like the water backround. It contrasts with the fire.

Ooh, I can tell you spend a lot of time around horses. Great use of shading to bring out that musculature! He seems to be quite an energetic steed.

Heya Angel, Chili Dragon from the DF Forum here.

Great job on the shading of this picture.
A pity the background is so empty. I bet the whole scene would look even better by nightfall or something.

KUTGW!

Spifftastic! 2 I could probably change it to a night scene...but I just haven't done ANYTHING with the ocean background for quite awhile. I may end up fiddling with it on the computer (The one at home has photoshop. YAY!)"

I have a computer background of the oringinal of that1 friesian horses ROCK!

:-) Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "2 Isn't that a great photo? Is yours from the cover of Horse Illustrated? That's what I used as the inspiration of this. I would imagine there are lots of pictures of Fresians rearing. They are awesome horses, as you've already noticed. 2"

That is one of the most beautiful horses i have ever seen!!!! I love the pose and the shading rellly brings out his muscles. The whole scene is just amazing but i would like to see it finished. I love the firey mane and tail and it's contrast to the water. Great picture!!! 2

:-) Joan Desiree Johnson replies: "Thanks! I'm not so happy with it anymore since I've learned a bit more about coloring, but oh well. I'm not UNhappy with it, anyway."
