I wanted to draw a real fighting woman. As much as women with swords get made fun of around here i figured i'd try to envision a realistic one. She has her body covered up and her hair is in dreadlocks since i figure a wandering warrior wouldn't have working bath facilities and shampoo on hand. Her story (which i came up with as i was working on her) is that she's found or inherited this armour that gives her extra strength (not super strength or anything extravagant mind you - but enough to weild that blade of hers). I thought it should be called the armour of the crescent moon b/c all the shapes that are embossed on it look like moons to me... I also *tried* to give her a background...wether i failed or succeeded is still up in the air...

awww. she is so cute and stylish. and her sword is so big. I love her perportions...it gives her a certain soft feeling while still being able to smack you with a large metal object. 1

:-) Desiree Alana Sutherland replies: "she does look a little young and cutesy...i get the feeling that she wasn't really much of a warrior until she found the armor. As for the large metal object - i was going for a Final Fantasy sword lol. So it's gigantic on purpose. I'm glad you like the overall effect and didn't say that she was dumb b/c she's cute AND a warrior. =D Thanks for the compliment!"

Yes, I don't imagine warriors would have perfect hair eitherer. I LOVe the shword and armour! it's in a sort of 2- dimentional style, and I do LOVe all the designs on the armour. The backgreound, no matter what you say, is aslo great.

I think it'd look really good as stained glass! You've got some really excellent shading going on in this pic, especially in the background. The armor design is really detailed and I love the sword. I really kinda expect her to start swinging her sword over her head(like Cloud Strife) and to start hearing the FF7 battle song playing in the bg somewhere!
