As if you didn't know by the title - this is the serpent form of Lucifer coiling around the tree in the Garden of Eden. If you'll note the apple to his right - the tree is also bleeding wherever his claws touch (pure evil meets pure good or something like that) though it's hard to see. I've also uploaded a detail of his face since it's really little on here. This was done all in black ink - no pencil outline with a quill pen and some white paint and a toothbrush for the background. The reason the background is all black is that when i was drawing it the first time i tipped my ink bottle over on it =( and i had to figure out how to fix him.

Wow-That's so kewl! The scales look like they took a long time. And the serpent's head reminds me of a really interesting Thai mask I saw in a shop once when i was visiting my grandparents(who live in Northern Thailand). The tree is also very nicely done. And this was made w/out a outline! Well, I'm getting used to seeing you do beautiful work. Amazing work, yet again, huh! Oh Btw, did you know what Lucifer means- light giver or something. And Satan really just means adversary. Just some useless info i read in this book about prophecies about apocalypse and whatnot. Those books tend to make you a bit paranoid though so you should never really get too serious about it^__^;;;; heheh.

Well, if you think about it, Lucifer was a "Shining Ball of Light" before he turned against God and was cast from heaven. A literal fallen angel. The snake pretty good, esspecially since there was no outline. Very clever fixing your mistake like that.

Also, I know I shouldn't nitpick religious beliefs but I have to say, it wasn't an apple. This is merely a common conception of the "Fruit of The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil". That is the name given to it. Thinking about it, would an apple really be that tempting? Probably a fruit of which we have no knowledge.

Anyway, enough nitpicking. Good pick, I enjoy seeing religious pics and reading comments about them. Tree bleeding - innovative idea!

In response to the above: The apple has become an arcitypal symbol for the temptation of Eve so why question it...I suppose you think a pineapple may look better on there!? lol.
I think it is very good...an interesting take on the snake and the general gloominess of the picture is perfect for the fourthcoming event!
Well done 2
