Well, here after much pain and suffering (in my eyeballs mostly) is the colored version of my Tree Dweller drawing. I'm not good at backgrounds and i'm not really sure if this one looks good or not. I see it as a canopy of leaves with the sun shining through from behind and if i look at it with that in mind i like it just fine. =)

1 Desiree Alana Sutherland replies: "Haha...thanks Dru- nice dance as well. I'm glad you like her. I'm no old hand at computer coloration but i'm trying to get better b/c color seems to be loved a lot more than black and white here in the woods. She was supposed to be a cartoonish style not really all that realistic - just a fun little elf girl...Thanks for the kind words and the dance as well! hehe"

I love this even more colored! The shading's minimal but I like how the tree seems to have such an unnatural pattern to it, as if it were composed of fabric or something. Not your ordinary tree, for sure. I really like the way you drew her feet too. it reminds me of my basic art class(back when I was a freshman) where we had to do some contour line stuff.

:-) Desiree Alana Sutherland replies: "I'm glad that you like the tree too - i just like the marbelized effect. I know it doesn't look like a real tree but i think it looks cool anyway.I agree with you about the feet. I just like to draw them that way b/c i love the curved lines and the contours. That's one of the reasons i hardly ever draw toes. I can draw toes i just really like that comic book style foot design."

This is my favourite in your gallery. It's beautiful and very well-executed. I like the texture on the tree, too. Her anatomy is obviously exaggerated, but it adds to her character wonderfully. I really dig this!

2 Desiree Alana Sutherland replies: "Such very kind words...Thank you!"

This pic rocks, do you draw anime because I do, please leave me some comments

:-) Desiree Alana Sutherland replies: "Thank you for your kind words - yes i do draw some anime when the mood strikes me. Your work is really great - keep it up and at your age, by the time you get to be my age you will be kickin some arse around the woods! =D"
