| 22 Jul 2009 | Trouble_seeker sarah Lippens | Loading...*stares at it for a loooooooooooooooong time then gets to blinking* that is wonderfull !!! I wanna have it !!! how big is it? Didn’t it take forever to get all the small details in? Megan (Stormphyre) Perez replies: "Its roughly 9’’ at the base and 6’’ at the tallest point. When I started carving scales, it probably took me an hour or so. When I get working on those, I just kind of ..zone out to everything else lol. Actually constructing the whole thing probably takes me 5-6 hours (I’ve never timed myself for sure though). The reds, blacks, and yellows, however, are something that was unplanned that the glaze does on its own. With the exception of the vast yellow on the base, that was an over coat. There’s not really a way to make colors go there and here with this glaze but I’m absolutely thrilled with how it did go! This one is not for sale as I’m rather attached and fond of it and the tail would probably bust in the mail :< Along with the horns. But I have other things for sale on my etsy shop! Small sculptures will eventually start making an apperance on there. Thank you for your comment and interest!" | |
