| 22 Aug 2012 | Noora Khalid | Loading...Hey, welcome to Elfwood. Willem van Deursen replies: "Is this an automated welcome message...? If not: Noora, I don’t write fiction and I don’t draw/paint. I needed to make contact with various artists here, and could only do that by registering. Which is fine with me, but I cannot contribute to Elfwood in any way.
regards Willem" | |
| 23 Aug 2012 | Noora Khalid | Loading...no it’s not automated XD, it’s fine if you don’t do any of that. i was just saying hi, sorry if i bothered you. | |
| 24 Aug 2012 | Willem van Deursen | Loading..."OMG (Sally Field modem) You love me! You all love me!" Noora; no, you didn’t bother me at all. Thanks for the note! And Cecelia; if you are familiar with my weblog you wouldn’t have asked. | |

(hm... meant to send this as a private message, but it doesn’t seem to be any different than a public one...)

| 4 Sep 2012 | Willem van Deursen | Loading...Hi Zac,
I used your dwarven berserk drawing in a series on Fantasy Dwarves. Your name is in it, link to Elfwood (I couldn’t find any other) featured underneath the image. I have biiiig problems with links in my Google mail at the moment, receivers can’t activate them. I hope the URL works here:
http://bloggwonder.wordpress.com/2012/09/02/the-art-of-dwarfi- sm-21/
Otherwise try the home page: http://bloggwonder.wordpress.com/
You’ll see ’The art of Dwarfism’ episode 21 almost at the top, image is on page 2. Of course, if it doesn’t agree with you for whatever reason, I’ll take the illustration down again.

| 11 Sep 2012 | Willem van Deursen | Loading...Yes. The risk of losing my wordpress weblog, my internet account even, and paying a ’damage’ claim on top is very small, but it is there.
No, LOTR Online doesn’t exactly commisson art of Gimli and Legolas in each other’s arms after a skinny dip... Fortunately the more naughty dwarves are always fan art, and thus personal, unrelated art. I’ve secured quite a lot of them so far. That’s why I will continue the series after a short break from the subject. But the preceding episodes must go.
The ’uncredited’ should bug you, Zac. It’s not just an illustration, it’s YOUR illustration! Every artist should put his name in his works. And it’s a fact that when the art work made an impression on the viewer, the name in it will also stick in the mind.

| 12 Sep 2012 | Willem van Deursen | Loading...Do you have an account on Deviantart? They published an article about the San Diego Comic-Con 2012 event. A speaker, Josh Wattle, gave a warning that publishing your own fan art is not without legal risks... Here’s the link:

but I suspect that you can only see the page if your registrated and logged in. I found a YT vid of that speech:

54 min long, but Josh is an enjoyable, funny guy.
Elfwood should give attention to this matter as well.
