"C is for Castle" by Debbie Palmer

	November 7, 2005. Black ink and acrylic paints. 8.5 x 11 inches. Dragons twine through and about the letter C, forming a frame for a medieval castle. This is based on illuminated capitals found in many religious texts in the 12th century. It is a style referred to as a historiated letter. The idea for this came to me near midnight last night, and I worked most of the night to complete it.
