I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, and have been doing fantasy art since I was about 18. I mostly express the assorted images that constantly flit through my mind. My drawings create themselves, and surprise me from time to time.
If you have my personal gallery off Elfwood bookmarked or favorited, PLEASE check the link. Owns1 no longer exists. My gallery is now on Yahoo. Thank you.
My private gallery is over 1000 drawings now, and growing almost daily. Some of my most recent work is inspired by Medieval illuminated manuscripts, but isn't really fantasy art. Through the years, my art has covered many, many topics, not all of them fantasy, and you can follow my progression there.
Nov 10, 2007. I have been overhauling my Elfwood gallery, cleaning out older work. It is all still available in my private gallery if you are looking for it. I hope to have new pieces to add here at Elfwood soon.
Nov 11, 2007. I couldn't leave my gallery empty for long. I've uploaded the tiny fraction of my summer and fall art which is fantasy art and not copied in some fashion from ancient texts. I hope all will enjoy, as soon as they appear.
I prefer to work in colored pencils or acrylic paints, though I've been known to use watercolors (the kiddie kind), poster paints, assorted markers (including Sharpies), gel pens, crayons, and even a few experiments with oddities like liquid paper (can't call it white out when it comes in colors!) and one nasty mess with ground up chalk in vegetable shortening (don't try that - trust me!). I also like to do paper mosaics once in a while, or use other interesting things, such as notebook paper hole reinforcements, to create art.
I'm 40 years old, and live in Michigan with my boyfriend and my two sons, Tommy (age 8) and Robby (age 7), who are the joy of our lives. The boys are budding artists, and will be submitting their first art tickets to Elfwood in October, 2013 and September, 2014, respectively. We are very involved in our church. Our entire family is deeply involved in Middle Ages Re-enactment, through the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism).
