SciFi and Fantasy Art Gods: The Lovers by Elke Dobben

The first in my new series of Gods from the realm that's constantly haunting me in my head :P This is version 2.0, because version 1.0 got eaten by the dog (you can probably guess who did not get any cookies for a while after that).

Name: The Lovers

Gods of: Love, beauty and the arts.

Desc: Well, as you may have noticed, they are a pair of gods, not one. Together they rule as the gods on all things love and beauty, which also includes all the arts. If you look closely you may also notice, they are both men (no, they are not related... and if you don't like two men, go look at something else, i've got plenty of solo men and women in my gallery). The god on the left generally concerns himself with painted and sculpted art, and all things beautiful, he's energetic, cheerful and slightly eccentric. The god on the right pays more attention to written art and true love, he's peaceful, quiet and held back. As you can tell, near opposites yet the same... a perfect match :)

2 Mar 2004	Gene C Altobelli	Loading... excellent composition. i like the diagonal thrust of the hair into the cloak, which leads into the others hair, into the bird. i also like the way the vines on the boarder echo the curves of the two gods. And i like the concept of having two gods of love. the fact that they are both male is irrelevant to the concept (but it is intriguing in it's own right, and I DO like that they are both male).
