| 6 Feb 2003 | Whitney | Loading...I love the concept of this: it kind of reminds me of the Chess Game with death. I love this guy's boots. Where can I get a pair? Elke Dobben replies: " Thank you. I have no idea where to get boots like those, since I totally made em up, no reference or anything But, maybe they exist somewhere. " | |

| 12 Mar 2003 | Mali | Loading...Oh just torture the poor boy will you. He even looks depressed. Very good though. Maybe what you wanna do with your pics when you scan them is darken them, cuz even not so small details are kinda hard to see Elke Dobben replies: "Yeah, I realize I need to darken them... I just keep forgetting, and them I'm too lazy to rescan the thing And usually the jpg conversion takes some of the detail out aswell. Thanks " | |

| 12 Oct 2003 | Luna | Loading...Yes, Luna's back in Elfwood. Anyway, on with the comment. I read the caption and that sent me thinking. I saw another comment comparing Trickster with Loki, and when I saw the 'depressed' god, I checked my book, and, sure enough, unlike the Greek Gods, who were immune from grief, the Norse gods, whom Loki is one of, were not. They could be killed, and they could be saddened. As is your god Morality. So there is more than one parallel between common mythology and yours. Which makes yours all the more classic if you ask me. Great picture, love the style. Keep up the good work! Elke Dobben replies: "Thanks. I find it rather amusing that you say this, because I've never actually read up on Norse mythology, I don't know more than the basic bunch and I know very little about their personalities. I guess we all pick stuff up somewhere, whether we realize it or not. I just don't like the idea of emotionless gods, or the kind of gods the Greek had (you know, the sleep around with everyone types ), although I've read several myths that say that the Greek gods could indeed grieve. In any case, a likeness with the Norse gods in my works is purely coincidental, but I don't mind " | |
