Well, there's a LOOONG story behind this one... I did this whilst on holiday in Newquay, South-West of England, virtually on the coastline. I was really upset, distressed and grumpy over a lot of things that week, but mainly because I hadn't done any art for about 2-3 weeks, and it was really getting me down. So I goes out to the shops and buys m'self a pencil, sharpener, eraser and some good quality paper. Spent the WHOLE DAY in the house we were renting, all by myself, sat at the kitchen table and simply DREW ALL DAY. It was BLISS!!! I listened to the music *I* liked, did what *I* liked, and drank lots of coffee too! And this is the result- Hook de la Mer! ('Hook of the Sea'). Using only a commemorative Newquay pencil of the HB vareity, and a novelty eraser from Cornwall (Gotta love those Cornish Pasties!!!) I finished it off on the train journey back home, too. Which took the whole of 10 hours!

Jason Isaacs as Captain Hook taken from the live action movie Peter Pan.

:-) Donna M. Evans replies: "Nope, its de la mer. As in of the sea, like the French term "Fruits de Mer"- Seafood"

I am not even remotely related to the Callie above me. Thought I'd clear that up.

It is gorgeous! I love his curly hair. I know from experience how hard it is to draw. The lighting is very pretty. It's wonderful! Did you have a photo referance?

this is *really* nice.

I played Jas Hook in the musical Peter Pan, and it’s nice to see somethin that catches a little of his vulnerable side. After all, Hook just wants his mummy.

Wonderful detail. Beautiful hair. Good work.

:-) Donna M. Evans replies: "Thank you very much for the lovely comments!"

Well done. It's rare to see an original version of either Hook or Pan, particularly if you're looking for quality. This has a lyricism and story to it that is delightful.
