Elves, Dragons, and all the Magic in Between

            Well like all stories dealing with magic this one takes place in a world were magic is more than a fairytale, where magic is life and the very air one breaths to survive. This story takes place in the magnificent world known as Stronghelm. No kingdoms ever existed in Stronghelm for the inhabitants of this beautiful land lived in pleasant harmony until the Dragons came. They swept the skies in a blink of an eye and dominated them as their own in less than a sun’s rise. Many died in an attempt to bring peace to Stronghelm but to no effort the Dragons remained and killed every human one by one until only a handful lived. For you see Dragons love humans, they are their favorite meal and well preferred over Orges, Elves, and Dwarves. Three hundred years passed before anyone close to being able to face the Dragons and win was found until now. For deep in the forest lives an elf who’s life is about to change.

            “Mensin will you come down from there this instance!” yelled Cassen in frustration. “Why do you have to be so spoiled and childish?”

             “I am just having some fun Cassen, don’t worry I won’t get hurt.” replied Mensin as he jumped from the tree thirty feet above the ground and landed with out a sound a few inches from his best friend Cassen.

            “Come on lets get back to Mister Jalonz lectures before we get in trouble with your dad.” Cassen said as together both elves went running past bushes towards the campgrounds.

            A few minutes later the two friends where inside a tent and sitting rather unhappily with open books on their laps and listening to their professor of Magic. Magic was a very interesting topic but elves took great care and pride in teaching all aspects of magic and that included history and rules of nature. To adolescent elves that kind of detail was rather boring and outdated especially to the clown Mensin.
