SciFi and Fantasy Art Esquire Squirrel by Candice Dosela

This is a sketch of Esquire Squirrel another character from my children's book called Periwinkle's misadventure. This little rascal steals Periwinkle's magically shrunken satchel. He not so cleverly hides it away in his tree hallow. Esquire Squirrel unwittingly opens the bag and it's contents wildly returns to it's natural size. The poor fool ends up pinned to the hallow's walls behind bolts and bolts of woven silk.

2 Jun 2008	Elsa R. Oakley	Loading... Lovely drawing. It looks realistic but you have also given him a more human expression and pose that makes him more like a book character. Squirrels are really mischievous; they used to break all the heads off the sunflowers that I used to plant when I was little. Candice Dosela replies: "I tried to do this one with Adobe Illustrator. I just don’t have that skill down yet. I think I will paint him. The expression really does show his personality."

I wish there was magic where I work, also =] Candice Dosela replies: "Thanks Rebecca. We see squirrels in New Mexico too but not as often as coyotes and jackrabbits. "
