"...The sailors shouted, panic reigned. Though my master sought to protect me, to send me below, I could not help my reaction to seeing the great serpent's head rise from the water, intent on sending the great ship to the sea's floor. I lifted my hands, and felt the ship's rail pressing against my hip, and the power flowed through me... Later, I could not have said what had happened, but for the first time in fifty years, a ship made the passage through the straights, from Harrowgate to the sands of Qul..."
