| Another Song. Changed it around some March '05. I like it much better now. Anyway I was thinking of Pan when I wrote this- Enjoy |

"The Bones of the Earth"
Two thousand years ago they were raised
To hold festivals of Death and praise.
Ancient Bones of Giant size
Reaching out to touch the Skies…
The Gods on Olympus look down still
Bound and Forgotten by Mortal will…
Memories Dance in the Hills below
Echoes of Pan fading slow.
A Thousand years Gone, as this day
Where conflict and hatred rule the way.
Mortal tears, Weeping shrill-
A Strange and Gentle thrill.
To Sing and Dance beneath the Sky
One brief Spark and then to die…
Made of Clay and soon returned
Fragile life, a Sun-scorched burn.
The Stones triumphant, Immortal remains
Lost in Mountain’s Ash or Forest Deep,
Or a Sea swept sorrow
In Moon washed Sleep.
A Humble Shrine in the Night
Sweet Shelter to the Lover’s plight…
Life continues Gentle and slow-
An Unknowing Future bereft of Woe.
The Bones of the Earth do not forget
The Stones themselves remember:
The Carver’s hands
The Chisels touch.
The sweet Remembrance
Of a Sun warmed rush.
