I am the Elf,

That lives in the tree!



I live apart from the normal world,

Looking over the rooftops and chimneys,

With smoke unfurled!



The lights from the windows emit a warm glow,

From the homes of the humans,

That I'll never know!



The life of an elf can be lonely indeed,

I sit here and I ponder,

The things that I need!



I watch at night, from dusk until dawn,

Then I yawn, as my eyes close,

With the glare of the sun,



And I sleep alone in my leafy tower,

Waiting once more,

For the evening hour!

your Elf is better off not getting too close to those humans- always fighting with each other, polluting the earth, being afraid of anyone or anything they don’t know-i know,we Dragons have been maligned by them for centuries. It’s nice to know there are a few who appreciate us, like you!
