Another character from my Sorche series. Sheou is from a race of Ivories which dwell in the region of Chalice on the planet Sorche'. It is known that Ivories all stem from a common race called, quite simply, Common Ivory. The Common Ivory were a race of mimics with no true evolution or societal structure of their own. They were on the verge of extinction until Dey (a Sorchen entity known as a Fate, godlike entities), took a liking to their race and appeared to them in the form of an Ivory, assumed the role of Queen and saved the Ivories. Through her intervention, the Ivories were scattered throughout various Sorchen regions where they adapted to their surroundings and eventually began to gain affinity with the lands they inhabited.

The Ivories of Chalice have exhibited the most evolved change. For every tenth generation Ivory born with the normal appearance of insect-like wings, one Ivory is born into the clove (Ivory family) with feathers instead of insect wings. The Chalice Ivories have taken it upon themselves to protect the dwindling flocks of Praiijer (a Sorchen holy bird revered by many for it's magical attributes) which migrate there to procreate each first winter's moon. The clove of Sanctus spearheaded the initial campaign to protect the Praiijer and quickly became a family of high standing among the Chalice Ivories.

Sheou (a tenth generation feathered) took Lore (from the clove of Sanctus) as a lifemate, and was appointed High Protector Elder Class (The highest honor bestowed upon a Protector). Oddly enough, this resulted in the development of another evolutionary trait. A trait which rendered The Trial of Worthiness unneccessary. This trait was the natural eye marking which adorned Sheou's eyes.

Sheou bore many offspring and the ones bearing their mother's mark went on to become High Protectors after undergoing the trial. It was soon determined that the mark signified the calling of a High Protector, the title was given upon birth as was the option to forego the trial. Only one among Sheou's offspring endured The Trial of Worthiness despite the right to forego it. Praj passed and now rules as a High Protector of Chalice.

However, Praj excels so much in her new post that she is constantly being compared to her mother. Yet whenever she falters she is quite often reminded of what her mother would do. Praj feels that she is existing in her mother's shadow and grows weary of trying to live up to the expectations of a cold and relentless living legend. Of course, Sheou does love her daughter, yet still she keeps her at a distance with condescending looks of disapproval and curt words aimed at bruising Praj's ego.

Why would a mother treat her child in such a manner? The answer lies within Praj's birth and the cataclysmic consequences which would ensue should the truth be known.

Special Features:
Sheou has a natural markings on her left and right eye which symbolizes the status of a High Protector.
- Also she has an extraordinarily large braid which runs down her back and two smaller sized braids which drape from the sides of her head.
- Sheou's feathers are white and black. This is odd simply because most female feathered Ivories have wings of a single color (just as female Praiijer). Usually only the males boast black and white features.
- She wears The Gaza Crown upon her head. The Gaza Crown is a Praiijer helmet given only to the High Protector who reaches the rank of Elder (such as Sheou).
- Lastly, Sheou carries with her what appears to be a miniaturized version of a Praiijer Staff.
